Service

Medical Gas Solutions Limited (MGS) can offer a tailored gas management service to suit your requirements. This gas management service can include the following elements:

Collection and delivery service for equipment and medical gas cylinders.

Medical Gases like all gases supplied as compressed gases in cylinders under pressure are classified as Dangerous Goods. In the UK the carriage of medical gas cylinders is covered by The Carriage of Dangerous Goods and Use of Transportable Pressure Equipment Regulations.
It is therefore important to ensure that when you make arrangements to return gas cylinders to MGS for refill and maintenance that you ensure that you comply with this legislation. At MGS we will work with you to ensure that you comply with this legislation.

Cylinder Service

All gas cylinders must be designed and manufactured to an approved standard to withstand everyday use and to prevent danger. Gas cylinder must comply with the requirements of the Transportable Pressure Equipment Directives (TPED) which is implemented by the Carriage of Dangerous Goods and Use of Transportable Pressure Equipment Regulations. Gas cylinders must be constructed to approved standards, initially inspected before they are put into service to ensure they conform to the approved standard be marked accordingly, and be periodically examined at appropriate intervals to ensure that they remain safe while in service.

As part of our cylinder service we inspect all gas cylinders to ensure that they are safe for use and will if required arrange for the cylinder to have a periodic inspection by an appropriately approved cylinder testing facility.

If the cylinder is fitted with an integral pressure regulating valve, as a medical device, it will have a defined requirement for periodic service. Medical devices that are outside their service period should not be used. MGS will ensure that the medical device is within its service period and if not can make appropriate arrangements to complete the required service.

MGS can provide a refill service for Medical Oxygen and Nitronox. Medical Gases like all medicines have a shelf life, it is important to ensure that your medical gas is within its shelf life.

MGS can provide a service that includes an annual inspection of your gas cylinder to ensure that it continues to be fit for its intended purpose.

If your medical gas cylinder has been involved in an incident where the cylinder valve has been damaged MGS may be able to arrange to complete a suitable repair or to supply a replacement valve.

MGS offers a disposal service for cylinders that are damaged or that have failed to pass their periodic test.

Each medical gas cylinder is fitted with micro chips that allow the products to be tracked to their delivery and collection location. Therefore reducing the likelihood that cylinders are lost. The delivery and collection information can be used for example to produce cylinder usage information that can be used by a customer in conjunction with MGS to ensure that medical gas cylinder stock levels are optimised.
